I have used the app a couple of times now since my last post and it is still crashing. Just wondering if you have an update on any logging which has been captured.

You need to phone them and get them to REMOVE mms from your account, in theory the "Text MMS to 1010" should be intelligent enough to know you have an original iPhone but obviously in this case it's not working.

Sadly this is outwith our control and will need to be done by the network, call 2302 from your handset and explain you have a 2G iPhone that does not support MMS and you need to have MMS de-provisioned so that you receive the "legacy text message notifications" and they should be able to help.

Best of luck :)

Afternoon all,

I've texted "MMS" to 1010 on three seperate occasions now & keep just get the inital SMS reply saying "We'll set up picture messaging now and let you know when it's ready" - then I hear nothing after that. I've also phoned O2 & CPW (Carphone Warehouse) on two or three occasions to try & resolve the issue. O2 pass me to CPW everytime, stating that they have none of my information because my contract's with CPW. Fair enough. CPW then confirm that MMS is enabled on my account. Great, but what now? I've tried sending an MMS or two from my girlfriends phone to mine to see if that 'kickstarts' things, but I receive nothing. Any ideas? :o(

(FWIW, it's an old O2 2G model that my girlfriend gave to me when she upgraded to the 3G. I'm on a sim-only O2 contract. My mobile number's in my profile).

Thanks in advance, Ben.

I have tried adding a picture first, doesnt work. Sometimes i dont even get as far as adding a picture.

Once i have added a name to the To: value, (using the address lookup) then i click on the message area and it crashes.

We had an issue from around 11pm on Christmas Eve until mid-day Christmas Day. This was due to the increased volume of messages sent in this time which co-incided with a scheduled downtime at one of our upstream providers which meant we were queuing messages locally as they were slower processing them than normal.

The issue was rectified during Christmas Day and as of this morning appears to be working well... I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused and hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all the best for 2010 :-)

Hello,

I am new to iPhone MMS, I have a iPhone 2G running OS 3.1.2.

I was able to receive an MMS no problem, so thought I would buy some credits to try sending a message.

However when I try to create a MMS I get as far as entering a number (via the contacts lookup) and then the app crashes and takes me back to the iPhone home page.

I have tried uninstalling the app and downloading + installing it again and it makes no difference.

Hope you can help

Please note that our service will only work for active O2 customers, should you move to another network you will no longer be able to use MMS on your iPhone 2G.

We regret that we will not be able to support any other networks going forward, and this service will remain O2 only indefinitely.
To those of you going to another network, thank you for your support of iPhone MMS.

Hi Vicky,

Please can you eMail support@iphonemms.net with both transaction references - we can only see one at our side.... I'll chase it up with PayPal (unfortunately we can't refund a transaction that we can't see ... much as I'd love to!)

Sorry for the inconvenience... This, unfortunately, is a PayPal problem but we'll do our best to help you resolve it :)

Hi Ross, many thanks for your quick response and for applying the 30 credits. I have just checked on the paypal account and there were definately 2 transactions of £11 each to iphonemms.net, one was at 12:42 the other at 13:27 yesterday 14 October. Are you able to refund the second payment?

Thanks, Vicky :)

I can only assume something has gone awry with the PayPal notification (IPN) system, and we've not received an electronic notification of your payment.
There have been a number of successful purchases today so I assume this is an isolated incident - however, we'll obviously help get to the bottom of it for you :)
