Afternoon all,

I've texted "MMS" to 1010 on three seperate occasions now & keep just get the inital SMS reply saying "We'll set up picture messaging now and let you know when it's ready" - then I hear nothing after that. I've also phoned O2 & CPW (Carphone Warehouse) on two or three occasions to try & resolve the issue. O2 pass me to CPW everytime, stating that they have none of my information because my contract's with CPW. Fair enough. CPW then confirm that MMS is enabled on my account. Great, but what now? I've tried sending an MMS or two from my girlfriends phone to mine to see if that 'kickstarts' things, but I receive nothing. Any ideas? :o(

(FWIW, it's an old O2 2G model that my girlfriend gave to me when she upgraded to the 3G. I'm on a sim-only O2 contract. My mobile number's in my profile).

Thanks in advance, Ben.

Hello,

I am new to iPhone MMS, I have a iPhone 2G running OS 3.1.2.

I was able to receive an MMS no problem, so thought I would buy some credits to try sending a message.

However when I try to create a MMS I get as far as entering a number (via the contacts lookup) and then the app crashes and takes me back to the iPhone home page.

I have tried uninstalling the app and downloading + installing it again and it makes no difference.

Hope you can help
Kind Regads

As O2 have finally announced that they will unlock iPhones, we understand it may be tempting for some existing iPhone 2G users to move to Orange, or to another network that doesn't have the iPhone yet.

Please note that our service will only work for active O2 customers, should you move to another network you will no longer be able to use MMS on your iPhone 2G.

We regret that we will not be able to support any other networks going forward, and this service will remain O2 only indefinitely.

To those of you going to another network, thank you for your support of iPhone MMS.

Hi, I'm sure this has been covered before but I've searched FAQ and can't see it.

I paid for 30 MMS's today via PayPal (£11) and normaly it works fine without a hitch but today it hasn't applied the 30 MMS credits to my MMS application.

I did notice that I had 3G turned off at the time. Could that have caused this problem?
3G is now turned on and I have turned off/on the phone but it still just says 'tap here to add message credit'

I shoud mention it's an iPhone 3G and has not had the OS 3.0 upgrade yet.

Obviously I can supply the PayPal transaction code to trace this.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Simply text MMS to 1010 free of charge from your O2 iPhone 2G.
But I have 70 odd credits left with your app and would like to be able to use them up but can't use the app as I no longer have a PIN from O2 and won't receive another as they send actual MMSs to my phone.
How can I get the app activated so I can use up the remainder of my photo credits?
As I said I've been using it regularly, but every now and again it will randomly lose memory of my login details and I have to re-enter them. Today I recieved an MMS no problem, and sent 2..then whilst sending the 3rd it stopped working, and then asked me to "Check my o2 PIN" when I reloaded the App.

My Number and PIN are definatley correct in the login page, but it won't work. I have also tried deleting and re-installing the App.

Anything else I can try? I keep getting the message saying to check I am entering the correct details. I read through the forum and have included me mobile number in my profile.

Hey,

I've been using the app for a while now and it's pretty good! nice work.

However, the other day my credits appeared as 6. I have only sent three picture messages since I bought the pack of ten. I remember my girlfriend was playing about on my iPhone when there was no network and other apps couldn't connect to the net. Everything went a bit sketchy and it said 'could not retrieve credits'. I am guessing she's sent a blank message to nothing or something has messed up.

Normally I wouldn't care but she's now trying to pin it on me saying i've been sending pictures to other girls and going all out paranoid.
So technically I have no way to prove I haven't, so my relationship is in shit.

I was wondering if the MMS' show up on my O2 bill, or if there's a seperate server where I can retrieve data from.
As you can imagine i'm pretty annoyed.

Please get back to me soon,

Hi

The app was working fine, I've sent and received loads of messages until yesterday. I was sent a message and didn't receive it. I didn't receive the text from o2. I've since been sent about 5 pics and have received none of them. I can still send pics tho. I have deleted the app and downloaded it again but this hasn't worked and I've rang o2 three times to try and sort it out but they seem to have no idea.

Can you help??

Thanks

Then today i was send a message by a friend, it never came through (incidently she was also on o2). IO then got a friend on the three network to send me a pic message, and i got the txt (it took about 15mins to come through though, usually its quicker) and when i tried to log on via mms, still getting the problem with log in message. My password is correct and has not changed.

I then uninstalled mms, and reinstalled it, and still the same problem. anyone else having issues

Port to Blackberry? (no replies)

I came accross iPhone MMS which looking for an MMS solution for my Blackberry.

As you may or may not know, Blackberries are designed to use a BIS server which requires a "blackberry" contract and paying extra to use.

All data traffic is supposed to go via the BIS. However if you put a pay-and-go sim card or one without a blackberry contract in a blackberry, GPRS and MMS become unusable because the traffic should go via BIS.

Solutions are around to get Opera Mini and other apps to route traffic via standard GPRS rather than BIS. However no solution is currently available to get MMS running.

A port of the the iPhone MMS software to blackberry would be ideal to solve this defecit, and drive more MMS sales to the iPhoneMMS service.

Is there any chance you are working on this / or could make the source code available?

I can send MMS to my wife's iPhone and on opening MMS it checks for new and downloads them, but there is no prior notification text from O2. Same the other way round. However if i receive a MMS from an Orange phone I do get a notification sms from O2.

It hasn't always been like this. When I first set up MMS on our iPhones all was good. Didn't use for a couple of months, and next time found the log in password had changed. Password now updated, and MMS all working again except for the notification texts.

Any ideas?

Thanks
